A home retrofit is more than insulation. Done properly, it treats the house as one system: the fabric, the windows and doors, airtightness, ventilation and heating are designed together so each upgrade supports the others. Marcin holds certification from Engineers Ireland in Retrofitting and Energy Efficiency and has completed advanced retrofit skills training at Mount Lucas National Construction Training Campus.
MZCC runs the retrofit as a building project: specification, sequencing, the building works around windows, doors and openings, ventilation, plastering and finishes, and coordination of the BER assessment and certification. The insulation itself, along with airtightness testing, thermal imaging surveys and energy advice, is delivered by our energy division, InsulateMyHome.ie, so one team handles the whole job from survey to handover.
For full-home retrofits we coordinate the BER assessment, the works package and the certification so the project is properly graded and grant-eligible where applicable, including through the SEAI One Stop Shop route.

In many cases yes. Individual grants cover measures such as attic, wall insulation and heat pumps, and a One Stop Shop route can grant-aid a multi-measure upgrade. We will tell you what is available and coordinate the BER assessor where required.
Most whole-house retrofits take 8 to 16 weeks depending on scope, with external work scheduled for drier months where possible.
