What we know about renovating in Dublin 6.

Dublin 6 is the heartland of Dublin’s Victorian and Edwardian red-brick housing — Rathmines, Rathgar, Terenure, Harold’s Cross. The classic D6 renovation move is to open up the rear of the ground floor and add an extension to the kitchen and living area, while preserving the front rooms with their original cornicing, ceiling roses, picture rails, shutters and fireplaces.

We do this work the right way. The period rooms keep their character and the new ground floor extension is detailed so the transition reads as deliberate. Fitted joinery is run to match existing architraves and skirting. Floors are laid to respect the original room proportions.
