Mount Merrion is one of the most distinctive mid-century estate postcodes in south Dublin. The 1950s and 1960s housing is built to consistent layouts that lend themselves to a familiar renovation template — opening up the ground floor (kitchen, dining and living often originally separated), converting the attic to add a bedroom and ensuite, and adding a rear extension to the kitchen.
